A tradition that’s both loved and hated by many, throwing back home run balls hit by opposing teams traces back to the 1970s and 80s by the ‘Bleacher Bums’ at Wrigley Field, and today many hardcore bleacher fans around the Majors have adopted it.

To quote one line from the Bleacher Bums play, “If someone hands you garbage, you have to throw it back at them!”
